Fireworks for the Garden

This time of year my garden in St Louis begins to look a little tired.

One of my all time favorites to 'sparkle it up' for this time of year is Agapanthus 'White Heavens', shown here from Heronswood's Online Catalog. I also grow 'Blue Nile' and keep both in pots I over-winter in the garage. They are wonderful poolside and bloom just in time for the 4th! Add a few pots of red geraniums and big tall glasses of lemonade and you are ready for friends and family. (ok, so our friends really prefer chilled wine and/or cold beer)
