Quilts

As a child I can remember my sister, Peggy, and I playing under the quilt that was stretched across our great-grandmother’s living room. Mattie (Martha Adams) and her friends would quilt most of the day. I still have several of the beautiful quilts she made. These are the quilts my mother had on her bed growing up in St. Louis. Others are well worn from decades of picnics on the lawn. Our grandchildren still play on them. That means they have lasted six generations.

Cindy Clifton, a talented local quilt maker, sent me the info on a show coming up in Queeny Park. If you don’t already have a family heirloom, this might be wonderful opportunity to purchase a quilt and start your own heirloom collection.

Thanks! A small correction. Not sure if you can BUY any quilts at the show, but you can look at almost 300 of them made by our guild. Some of the exhibitors might have a few for sale.
